So very thrilled to see this offered and the excitement and acceptance around mindful practices. Our college of nursing has been a buzz this semester trying to figure out how to increase awareness for faculty so we can share these skills with our students. Thanks you for making this happen!

    Hello
I’m a psychologist working with trauma at an inter-agency health hub. My heartfelt gratitude for this valuable opportunity to self care. We can’t care for others well, if our own cup is empty. I’ve read and listened to many of these gifted professionals. This is a great opportunity.

Hi everyone, I’m a human being whose longing is to feel my humaness more and more, to fulfill the purpose of my life and enjoy it. Otherwise, I completed my nursing training a long time ago and as many, I took better care of others that myself. I’m learning as much as I can to find a balance in this area.

I am a retired RN with close to 40 years of experience providing bedside care in NICU & Pedi ICU. In this capacity, I’ve researched and published on the subject of moral distress among NICU personnel. I also worked to develop and participate in the implementation of a palliative care protocol (NICU) for infants and their families. Simultaneously, I had a private psychotherapy practice specializing in treatment of Complex PTSD. The struggle to maintain a strong work-life balance was ever present. Self care and self compassion, although essential to maintenance of such a balance, were elusive or fleeting,at best.
