The Mindful Healthcare Summit Mission
The Awake Network and Mindful have partnered to create the Mindful Healthcare Summit, a 5-day FREE online event featuring 25+ leading neuroscience researchers, mindfulness experts, and dedicated medical professionals who are making a difference in their healthcare systems, universities, and hospitals nationwide.
Our mission is to create a community platform of healthcare professionals exploring how individual and organizational mindfulness and compassion and can help address the complex and systemic issues of chronic stress, overwork, burnout, and patient safety.
Whether you are a physician, nurse, EMT, administrator, hospital CEO, psychiatrist, or anyone else working in medicine, this event will share the latest research and best practices for introducing and integrating mindfulness into your work and life – for you, your patients, and the culture of healthcare.

Rheanna Hoffmann, RN, BSN, MA-Cert | Emergency Nurse, Coach, Meditation Guide, Founder, Whole Practioner
Rheanna Hoffmann, RN, BSN, MA-Cert, is a nurse, coach, and meditation guide. She is the Founder of The Whole Practitioner, a coaching business designed to help medical practitioners access and transmute their underlying causes of stress. As a nurse, she has worked in emergency, hospice, and Indigenous medicine, and on death row. She is trained in somatic and wilderness therapy, and is a certified auricular acupuncture specialist. She aspires to create environments where medical practitioners and students discover how their personality, values, and hidden gifts can align with their work.
Mark Bertin, MD | Developmental Pediatrician, Author, How Children Thrive and Mindful Parenting for ADHD
Mark Bertin, MD is a developmental pediatrician and author of How Children Thrive, Mindful Parenting for ADHD and The Family ADHD Solution, which integrate mindfulness into the rest of evidence-based pediatric care. He is a contributing author for the book Teaching Mindfulness Skills to Kids and Teens. Dr. Bertin is on faculty at New York Medical College and the Windward Teacher Training Institute, and on the advisory boards for the non-profits Common Sense Media and Reach Out and Read. Dzung X. Vo, MD, FAAP, FSAHM | Pediatrician, Clinical Associate Professor, UBC Faculty of Medicine, Author, The Mindful Teen
Dzung X. Vo, MD, FAAP, FSAHM, is the Head of the Division of Adolescent Health and Medicine at British Columbia Children’s Hospital, and clinical associate professor at the University of British Columbia Faculty of Medicine, Vancouver, Canada, and co-founder and director of the BC Children's Hospital Centre for Mindfulness. He co-developed a mindfulness training program called MARS-A, or Mindful Awareness and Resilience Skills for Adolescents. Dr. Vo also developed a Mindful Healing course for health care providers, adapted from Mindful Practice (Ron Epstein and Michael Krasner) and other sources. Dr. Vo is the author of The Mindful Teen: Powerful Skills to Help You Handle Stress One Moment at a Time. He also serves on the Board of Directors for the BC Association for Living Mindfully (BCALM) and the Mindfulness in Education Network (MiEN).

Parneet Pal is the Chief Science Officer at Wisdom Labs, a San Francisco-based company solving for stress, burnout, anxiety and loneliness in the workplace. A Harvard-trained physician, she focuses on the intersection of lifestyle medicine, behavior change and technology and building wiser workplaces using the science of mindfulness, resilience and compassion. Barry Boyce | Editor-in-Chief, Mindful magazine and Mindful.org, Mindfulness Teacher
Barry Boyce is Editor-in-Chief of Mindful magazine and Mindful.org. He has been practicing mindfulness since 1972 and teaching it since 1980, leading seminars, retreats, and leadership programs. He is the editor of the anthology The Mindfulness Revolution: Leading Psychologists, Scientists, Artists, and Meditation Teachers on the Power of Mindfulness in Daily Life. Barry is also co-author of The Rules of Victory, a commentary on the strategic principles that underlie Sun Tzu’s Art of War.
