I have downloaded the Healthy Minds program app and have been on a 5-day streak! I loved the analogy that practicing just one of the four pillars of wellness (awareness, connection, insights or purpose) is like doing weight training only for the upper body. We need a balance of all four pillars. I have been exposed to mindfulness and some connection meditations, but I think the missing link for me was the other two pillars. For example, in completing the purpose portion of the practice with Dr. Richardson in his talk, I realized that while I may be very goal-oriented, I can benefit from cultivating a clearer sense of purpose. Thank you for sharing this content.
thank you for the opportunity to hear these amazing speakers. I got to listen to a few across the week and really felt comforted and a connection with all who work in healthcare in knowing that we all are in this field to help people but we are also human beings who suffer and need to also be held and supported. We also tend to look after others and neglect our own wellbeing so thank you for the reminder.
